The One With… the Instrumentals

South Asians (and in particular, Kingfisher Airlines) seem to have a certain penchant for instrumental versions of popular songs.  As we approached the runway at Mumbai for our changeover flight we were serenaded by Boyzone. In a restaurant in Hanoi we were treated to End of the Road by Boyz II Men. On a boat on Ha Long Bay they inexplicably played Celine Dion’s hit song from ‘Titanic’ (slightly concerning when we weren’t allowed to stay overnight due to a typhoon coming in – more of that later).

But my absolute favourite has to be landing at Bangkok with the soothing notes of Lionel Richie’s “Hello” drifting over our heads.
